I am very pleased to be able to announce that OPUS has reached agreement with a new publisher for our journal, Organisational & Social Dynamics, to take effect from 2019.

There has been much rumour and speculation about O&SD’s future following the sale of Karnac’s publishing arm to Taylor & Francis towards the end of 2017.

Taylor & Francis have been very professional and supportive in taking over publication of O&SD for both 2018 issues. However, it was apparent from an early stage of discussions that O&SD’s longer-term future lay elsewhere.

We opened preliminary discussions with a number of publishers and held detailed discussions with two. Phoenix Publishing House emerged as our clear preference.

In some respects, this represents a return home: Phoenix was formed ‘from the ashes’ of Karnac and is run by two former members of Karnac’s publishing team – Kate Pearce and Fernando Marques – both of whom already have extensive experience of publishing O&SD.

Negotiations have been very cordial; we are looking forward to a long and successful collaboration from the start of next year.

Sandy Henderson
